Fully Engaged Partner Participation on All Projects
Jodi and Michael believe that every project that Studio S Architecture takes on should benefit from the talents of both partners. Although Jodi takes the lead in the design phase while Michael takes the lead during construction, both partners are fully engaged with all projects at each design phase.
Michael Smith, Principal
Michael brings 30 years of progressive architectural experience from project document production through project management and construction administration for educational and healthcare facilities. Michael’s specialty as a project manager for many of the firm’s healthcare projects has refined his architectural talents and knowledge. Under his direction the firm’s statistics for exacting project types have risen to a level that is unequaled in terms of attaining an Owner’s goals within a prescribed budget and schedule. In many instances, Michael has enabled the Contractor to meet aggressive accelerated schedules. Architecture satisfies more criteria than the eye can see. Studio S Architecture’s success relies on a complete and coordinated set of documents detailing a design that passes the constructability test. Michael’s knowledge regarding how buildings are constructed and the performance of building materials, systems and finishes coupled with his experience and familiarity with today’s sophisticated medical equipment requirements and impact on building systems and infrastructure is a valuable resource to Owners.
Jodi Solito, Principal
As both an interior designer and an architect, Jodi believes in the holistic approach to design and enjoys designing spaces that people heal within. She brings over 20 years of experience to the team. While attending Florida State University, in her senior year she was selected to perform a campus wide accessibility study. This was back in 1992 right after the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed into law. Given the age of most of the buildings on the campus, it was an extensive report. During this year she learned much about ADA and considers this experience her precursor into wanting to practice healthcare architecture by gaining empathy for those with disabilities and physical hardships. It is this focus on universal design that helps Jodi shape the spaces she creates.

Testimonials:
___________________________________________________________________
I have worked with both Michael Smith and Jodi Solito over the last 6 years on a variety of construction projects in the hospital environment and in medical office space. They are innovative, detail oriented and responsive. One aspect of working with them that I truly appreciate is that they are very conscious of how things impact the Owner from a cost perspective. I would highly recommend them to any Owner looking for a design team.

Michael and Jodi are an excellent team and worked together to overcome many
variances and budgeting challenges that were presented to them after starting the project. At times I felt they were team members of BayCare and not an outside firm as they always had our best interest at heart and truly shared the same values as BayCare.
Deadlines were always met because of their attitude and cooperative teamwork to working with the contractors. I believe if not for their attention to detail, catching problems prior to them happening we would not have the excellent results that we received including staying under budget. They certainly made my job much easier and I highly recommend them without any hesitation and I look forward to working with them again on our future projects.
